This Privacy Policy describes how ClearView Medical Associates ("ClearView Medical Associates," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit this website, contact us, or communicate with us, including by text message.

Protected health information ("PHI") that we create or receive in the course of providing care is governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA") and our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is also provided to patients at enrollment. Where this Privacy Policy and the Notice of Privacy Practices differ with respect to PHI, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.

Text messaging (SMS) privacy

If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect and store your phone number and your consent record for the purpose of sending you the messages you agreed to receive. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for full details.

Text messages we send are brief and general by design: they do not contain diagnoses, test results, device readings, or account balances. Detailed health information is communicated only through secure channels such as the patient portal or a phone call.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only:

  • With healthcare providers involved in your care, such as your primary care provider and specialists, for treatment and care coordination.
  • With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as secure hosting, communications delivery, device logistics, and billing, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.
  • With health plans and payers as necessary to verify coverage and obtain payment.
  • As required by law, such as in response to a lawful subpoena, court order, or regulatory requirement, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our patients, our staff, or others.
  • In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case the successor remains bound by commitments materially consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Data security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and workforce training. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the protection of your information seriously and review our safeguards regularly.
